From Your First Call to Guards On-Site
Step 1 — Quote Call (15 minutes)
Tell us your address, coverage window, and what you’re protecting. We ask targeted questions and give you an honest hourly or flat-rate range on the call.
Step 2 — Site Assessment (same day or next)
For any standing post, we walk your property with you — identifying access points, blind spots, and the staffing posture that fits the risk and the budget.
Step 3 — Staffing & Deployment
We match officers to your site based on experience, training, and shift patterns. You meet your lead guard before start, and we agree on reporting cadence and escalation contacts.
Step 4 — Ongoing Support & Reporting
Daily Activity Reports land in your inbox. Incidents trigger same-shift escalation. Our coordinator checks in weekly, and service adjusts as your needs change.

Common Questions About Bay Area Security Guards
How quickly can Surefire deploy a guard in the Bay Area?
For standard engagements, we typically deploy within 24 hours of contract signature. For emergency fire watch or incident response, we can have a licensed officer on-site the same day, anywhere in the Bay Area.
Are all Surefire guards licensed and insured?
Yes. We are a California-licensed Private Patrol Operator, every guard holds an active BSIS Guard Card and has cleared DOJ and FBI background checks, and we carry general liability insurance that exceeds the state-required minimum. Certificates of Insurance are available on request.
What’s the difference between armed and unarmed guards?
Armed guards carry a firearm and hold an additional BSIS Exposed Firearms Permit. Unarmed guards do not. Armed officers are appropriate for high-risk sites, cash handling, controlled substances, or documented threats; unarmed is right for most deterrence, access control, and event scenarios.
How much do security guards cost in the Bay Area?
Bay Area rates run $30–$45/hour for unarmed guards and $40–$65/hour for armed guards in 2026. Our full Bay Area pricing guide breaks down every service type and what drives rates up or down.
Do you provide 24/7 or after-hours coverage?
Yes. Our dispatch operates 24/7/365, including weekends and holidays. Overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts carry a modest premium (10–20%) over standard daytime rates.
